• ESL Tutor Training and Workshop at St. James Cathedral, Seattle

St. James Cathedral Immigrant Assistance is planning a special ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor training and a workshop on starting a parish-based ESL tutoring project. This two-part series will give you all you need to get started. Afterwards, as you begin and grow your own ESL tutoring, their staff will be available to answer questions, connect you to resources, and help in whatever way they can. The cathedral’s program started in 1975 with one volunteer and five refugees. Wherever you begin, that’s a good place to start!

If you are interested, please contact Chris Koehler at (206) 382-4511 or ckoehler@stjames-cathedral.org and send him your phone number. He’ll need to talk with you about scheduling, how many people you might to send, point person, etc. They are still working out the details, so don’t hesitate to call or e-mail if you have any questions.

This program is sponsored by the Archdiocese’s Immigrant & Refugee Ministry. Please feel free forward this along to any parishes that might be interested.

    Thank you and God bless.
