Preparing for the 2017-2018 PowerSchool Consortium

Dear PowerSchool Consortium Leaders,

It’s been a very interesting year for the PowerSchool Consortium. I asked Kristin Dixon to write a letter to you all with a bit more clarity of what is the status of the SIS Committee work and the implications for the PowerSchool Consortium. Please read Kristin’s PowerSchool letter which is attached. I am grateful that Steve Deibert, Vireak Ath and I have been given the guidance to continue supporting this important cohort. With that said, I personally want to thank ALL of you for your patience, flexibility and determination to keep growing in your depth of using PowerSchool as your SIS. I thank Steve Deibert for the behind-the-scenes efforts despite a time of ambiguity.

For those PS schools who embraced MAP this school year, we were all greatly pleased that Steve was able to develop an export of SIS information so the NWEA-MAP rosters could be populated pretty easily. For PS schools moving into NWEA-MAP this fall, I think you also will be pleased. Now, I am in need of your help to fast track the PS renewal process and secure the initial student license counts for PowerSchool. If your school is electing NOT to participate in the PowerSchool Consortium for the 2017-2018 school year, please note that formally using the Renewal link.

Finally, we have been notified by PowerSchool of a price increase for the annual student licenses. The individual student license cost will move from $4.75 to $4.90 for the 2017-2018 school year. The PS Consortium Overview has more detailed information and it is attached for your review. Once we have all the information from the PS member schools we can finalize additional details.

Please reply no later than Friday, June 23 so we can coordinate responses and determine the next steps as we prepare to launch the 10^th year of the PS Consortium.

PowerSchool Training for New School Personnel – will be scheduled for early August 2017

Please indicate on the mach form if you need any new personnel trained in August – school office staff, teachers, and administration. (We will need name, role and summer contact info.) Once we know numbers we will secure the dates for PS August training. Thank you!
