Poetry Out Loud – 2017-18 School Registration is now open!
Any school serving students in grades 9-12 may register to participate in the Washington State Poetry Out Loud program. Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA) joins other state arts agencies in partnering with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation to support Poetry Out Loud, a poetry recitation competition that encourages the nation's youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. CWU’s Look at Me: High School Student Exhibition
The Department of Art at Central Washington University is sponsoring its annual Look at Me: High School Student Exhibition 2017 October 30 – November 3. The Look at Me High School Art Exhibition is free to enter and open to juniors and seniors across the Northwest Region. Students are welcome to submit one self-portrait each. Artists working in the fields of visual art, writing, theater, movement and music will provide young artist opportunities to learn new ways of thinking, seeing and being. Songwriting Challenge
The Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts partnering with the American Theatre Wing and in collaboration with Playbill, Inc. and Disney Theatrical Productions. The Songwriting Challenge is a national competition for high school students who have a passion for writing songs that could be part of a musical theater production.
