Dear Librarians,
The Catholic Schools Department has secured an annual "district" rate through Puget Sound ESD so all schools can acquire access to this library service/database using a special code for their local school. The annual subscription runs from July 1st to July 1st. This new school year, the discounted cost for each school participating in ProQuest is .17 per student. The K - 12 school student numbers are based on the annual October 1st enrollment data produced through the NCEA School Data Book. In the fall, the CSD would invoice your school for their portion of the district cost.
If your school would like to use ProQuest for the 2011-2012, please contact CSD@SeattleArch.org for the subscription form.
Once you have registered, your local school access code will be sent to you directly. Below is a brief description of ProQuest and the additional components that comprise the full service package. Many CSLA librarians are familiar with ProQuest and can help assist you in your research.

The Washington State Library, through funding provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), and OSPI provide special ESD pricing for Washington state schools to access the popular ProQuest, eLibrary Elementary, Culturegrams and World Conflicts Today online database products. Included in the Statewide Database Project is access to over 3,000 magazine titles, four Washington newspapers, and the New York Times, 350 additional newspapers from around the globe, five reference works, TV and radio transcripts from five programs, three map sources and four images sources.
