    Meet Debbie Robinson…

Deborah W. Robinson, Ph.D. taught French and Spanish in Pre-K-university early language, immersion, and traditional programs for 15 years prior to joining the faculty of The Ohio State University Foreign and Second Language Education Program. Debbie worked with pre-service and international teachers for six years at OSU where she taught methods, second language acquisition, and teacher education courses to M.Ed., MA, and Ph.D. students.

In 2001, Dr. Robinson was recruited to the Ohio Department of Education to shepherd the development of the state's academic content standards and model curriculum. She also serves as the project director for Ohio's FLAP-funded K-4 Content-enriched Mandarin Curriculum where she worked with an international team of Chinese teachers to develop detailed units. Debbie is the immediate past president of the National Council of State Supervisors for Languages (NCSSFL) and has worked closely with Hanban and the College Board over the past four years to interview and in-service the Guest Teachers from China who live and teach across the U.S.
