Dear Friends:
Attached you will find an invitation to attend the appreciation liturgy for Archbishop Brunett, Friday, November 19, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. here at St. James Cathedral. I do realize this is a school day, but I am hoping as many of you as possible could rearrange your schedule to be here. I am making two requests leading up to this day:
- My first request is similar to the request I made regarding Archbishop Sartain. I am requesting that as many schools as possible work with their children in making “Thank You” cards for Archbishop Brunett that can be presented to him during the reception following the Mass on November 19th. These cards can include notes of gratitude, promises of prayer and any other kind of message you deem appropriate. Schools established during Archbishop Brunett’s time might want to note this in a special way in their communication. As the case with Archbishop Sartain’s installation, the Catholic Schools Department will be the collecting point. Please have these cards to us no later than Wednesday November 17th by 5:00 p.m. You may mail them to me here at the Catholic Schools Department at 710 Ninth Avenue, Seattle, Washington 98104.
- My second request is that you electronically send any digital photos of Archbishop Brunett from any school event. These should be sent by e-mail to CSD@seattlearch.org. We will be taking the various digital photos and putting together a photo album for Archbishop Brunett. We may also want to flash some of these images up during the reception, so we would really appreciate having these electronic photos a week in advance and thus no later than November 10, 2010 by 5:00 p.m.
Yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Joseph J. Tyson
Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
