In addition to year-round advocacy, ACTFL and its members focus particular attention on speaking up for language learning during Discover Languages Month in February.

Celebrate Discover Languages Month by Barbara Rupert Mondloch, ACTFL President
February is Discover Languages Month!Time to celebrate language learning! Be sure to check out the student video contest finalists and vote for your favorites! I think you will be impressed with the quality of entries this year! Remember to invite your friends and colleagues to view and vote, too. Everyone can find some way to participate - and I know many of you will be doing lots of things all month long. So get started! Download the logo, make signs, and print and send Discover Languages Month invitations and invite your principal or administrator to visit your language class (the best advocacy starts there.) Discover Languages Month will be as successful as we make it: The key is participation! There are loads of ideas, links, templates, tools, resources, information and activities to help you educate, advocate, and celebrate on the ACTFL website and in TLE magazine. You can see and share ideas in the Bulletin Board, ACTFL Online Community, Linked In, Facebook and Twitter.
