• Educator Delegation to China 2011

    To help education decision-makers start and expand their Chinese language and culture programs, the College Board and Hanban (Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters) are pleased to announce the 2011 Chinese Bridge Delegation — a one-week education trip hosted by Hanban. The program focuses on school visits, cultural activities and educational workshops.

    2011 Chinese Bridge Delegation: Apply Today!
    Delegation dates: November 3–11, 2011
    Application deadline: June 3, 2011

    Participants will:
    • Visit Chinese K–12 schools, meet with Chinese educators and observe classes.
    • Establish meaningful partnerships with Chinese schools and network with
    • colleagues from the U.S.
    • Learn about best practices and resources to build and support Chinese language
    • and culture programs.
    • Experience China firsthand and marvel at the rich traditional culture set against
    • stunning modern development.
    Eligible Participants:
    District and school leaders and other decision-makers with oversight of foreign language learning. Participants in past delegations are not eligible to apply.

    Participant Cost:
    $900 registration fee, plus transportation fees to hub city for international departure.

    Delegates are provided free of charge with international round-trip airfare, accommodations, food and travel expenses in China.

    Requirements:
    • Have a valid passport, with at least six months validity after November 3, 2011.
    • Understand and accept trip goals and expectations.
    • Participate in all scheduled events.
    • Be prepared for an intense schedule, including up to 15 hours of activities per day.
