• A Rice Bowl Thank You

Operation Rice Bowl: this past Lent again called us to pray with our families, friends, co-workers and faith communities; to fast in solidarity with those who hunger; to learn more about our global community and the challenges of poverty overseas; and to give sacrificial contributions to those in need. We are very grateful for all that you did to help your community answer that call.

Rice Bowl Grants: The annual process is open for submitting applications for Rice Bowl grants. Deadline: May 13. The information/criteria/guidelines and the forms are available on our web site: www.seattlearchdiocese.org/missions, and by contacting us* for emailing or mailing to you or those you direct us to. If by email, please let us know if you need the materials in Word or PDF. If you want to know who received grants last year, that information is also available on our web site, or we can send the list to you.

    Evaluate Rice Bowl:
Catholic Relief Services depends on you (the best in the U.S.!) to continue to improve on the Operation Rice Bowl program. Now might be a good time for all of us and your colleagues to take a couple of minutes online and evaluate the program (http://orb.crs.org). The evaluation sheet is also printed, for mailing to CRS, in the Educator’s Guide and in the Coordinator’s Guide.

2012 Rice Bowl program materials: Yes! We will again be sending forms to each of you, asking you to think of what materials you may have run out of or had too much of at the end of this past Lent, and placing an order for next year. (If you are new as a contact person, please know that the order can be adjusted at any time. This process helps us all to be better stewards of resources.)
